Sympoiesis & Conviviality at Mildred’s Lane

Sympoiesis & Conviviality at Mildred’s Lane

I am delighted to be part of The Land Stewardship & Skill Share a week of workshops at Mildred’s Lane.
The session runs from June 7-14
SYMPOESIS & CONVIVIALITY will be on Thursday June 12:
Nicole Peyrafitte will guide participants through a “walk-shop” (walking workshop) to engage in conviviality (living-with) and sympoiesis (making-with, or becoming-with) the rich multispecies environment at Mildred’s Lane. Silent walking and listening will be interspersed with adaptive expercises that shift our expectations about how we move through and engage with a site, from experimental movement to making music. The walk will yield surprising perceptions both for those who (think they) know Mildred’s Lane well, and for those – like Nicole – who have never visited before!

After the “walk-shop,” Nicole will make crêpes for a lunchtime “cook-shop,” teaching us the history and technique of this traditional French food, which is affordable to make, adaptable to a variety of diets, and easily inflected by readily-available fillings and toppings — in this case, farm-fresh produce, dairy, and foraged herbs and fungi.
