SUMMARY:Anthology Film Archives Screening : Things Fall Where They Lie
DESCRIPTION:CULTURE VULTURE: STEVE DALACHINSKY ON SCREEN \nat Anthology Film Archives\nSeptember 29 – October 31 \npremieres \nTHINGS FALL WHERE THEY LIE\na film by Nicole Peyrafitte\n(ONLINE EVENT)\nThis is a bitter sweet event. Our dear friend Steve Dalachinsky transitioned a year ago & Steve & Yuko Otomo are 2 of the major protagonists of the film — a magic week we had during the shoot in my Pyrenean hometown. Anthology film archives was Steve’s Annex and having the film NYC-premiered there makes total sense since he still inhabits the place\, and since it is a virtual screening he will certainly attend!  So please join in the screening of Things Fall Where They Lie with is part of program 3. But there is a collection of appearances in film and video works by a wide range of filmmakers. Encompassing documentation of Steve’s own performances and readings\, short works starring Steve\, as well as his guest-appearances and cameos in fiction films and music videos\, this series is intended to celebrate Steve’s life and spirit\, and to thank him for his untiring dedication to the cinema and to the creative life of New York City and avant-garde culture everywhere.

SUMMARY:The 45th Annual New Year’s Day Marathon Reading
DESCRIPTION:Get your tix early:\nhttps://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3906011 \nThe 45th Annual New Year’s Day Marathon Reading\nThere are three things to consider when the New Year’s Day Poetry Marathon sweeps you into its gracefully uncouth embrace – what it is\, what it was\, and who you will be when it’s over. An untamed gathering of the heart’s secret\, wild nobility – over 140 poets together revealing not just that a better life could exist\, but that it already does\, sexy and wise\, rancorous and sweet\, big hearted and mad as hell. An avenging engine of resistance and eager vehicle of the nascent year. The Marathon measures its success through insurrectionist reframings of the universe\, an in-it-together courage that crafts a community out of the riot of lineages and traditions we all emerge from. This collective effort also helps fund as many as 65 additional events every year. It’s our largest fundraiser\, and arguably the most inspired ongoing literary event in the city. \nThis year’s performers include: Andrea Abi-Karam\, Ammiel Alcalay\, Justin Allen\, Julie Alsop\, Jonathan Aprea\, Ed Askew\, Daisy Atterbury\, James Barickman\, J.
