STORYDANCE
Ione Beauchamp, Amy Halloran and Jack Magai will render stories with dance and words off the cuff of their bodies and a typewriter. These particular stories do not exist yet; they will be improvised at the cabaret. The performances will be riffs on lines from stories by Herman Melville. The lines will be selected by the writer, Amy Halloran, and also, by the crowd.
Ione Beauchamp

Shespent 25 years living in NYC where she danced with many choreographers, including most recently Bill Young and Peggy Peloquin, and creating her own work with choreographer Teri Carter. Ione received her MFA in Dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, her BA from Barnard College.
Jack Magai makes things out fo dance and text. He has performed with many marginally famous people. He holds a BA in dance and literature from Bennington College. He made dances in Seattle for 8 years, and has been in the Capital District since 1999. He is an ISA-certified arborist and owns Magai Arboriculture in Troy. Her work has gotten her on the internet, in newspapers, and literary journals, and in trouble. She lives in Troy with Jack Magai and the two sons they made together, who both love dance and words.

“ROCK ON, GENGHIS KHAN!”
Libretto and Puppets by Carli Castellani
Music by Tim Castellani and Carli Castellani

Ancient warriors, modern rockers and shape-shifting time dervishes collide in a rock opera for puppets, as Genghis Khan awakens from a restless sleep in a netherworld, and tries to ride again.  Drawing from a spectrum of rock and world music influences, the arts collaborative Trash-Talking Monks, featuring Carli Castellani and Tim Castellani, bring mixed-media puppets to musical life.

Carli Castellani creates works that playfully invite a wide range of audiences to participate in the art experience.  She has been a guest artist in Russia, hosted by the Tatarstan Composers’ Union and Tatarstan State Puppet Theatre, and is invited back to Russia to build an installation inspired by the Volga river.  She is a founding member of the arts collaborative Trash-Talking Monks, and the former publisher of the art ‘zine Synthetica.  She can be contacted at synthetica@att.net, or 518.272.3926.
Tim Castellani is a bassist and composer who has been performing his whole life.  He collaborated on all phases of creating and producing the rock musical, Diana Moves, (www.dianamoves.com), and is currently working on a solo project, as well as creating music for “Rock On, Genghis Khan”.  Tim is truly happy to see music happen in all forms, and to share in it’s joy with others.  He can be contacted at tjcastellani@att.net, or 518.272.3926.
