TOM
BURRE:
Performance musician and composer.
Burre's uses samples and live inputs with granular synthesis software
"Crusher-X" and sound processors "GRM Tools" to
create moving sounds and lush textures with laptop computer. He also
utilizes voice and effected electric guitar to create and communicate
within the musical environment.
Burre was awarded "Best Guitarist - making a statement"
in 2003 by newsweekly Metroland (Albany, NY). Metroland also awarded
his art rock group BoneOil "Best Experimental Band" and
"Best Album of 2000" for their debut cd "The Mist of
Lust".
Burre is currently Assistant Executive Director at Electronic Music
Foundation and holds a B.A. in Music from the State University at
Albany.

PIERRE JORIS:
Pierre Joris’ most recent publications include Poasis: Selected
Poems 1986-1999, A Nomadic Poetics (essays)and 4x1 (translations of
Rilke, Tzara, Duprey & Tengour).He has translated Celan, Picasso,
Blanchot, Jabès, Meddeb, Schwitters and others and has received
several PEN awards for translation. With Jerome Rothenberg he edited
the Poems for the Millennium anthologies. He teaches in the Department
of English at SUNY-Albany.

MIKE LOPEZ:
Drummer/percussionist Mike Lopez has been active in numerous and varied
musical settings throughout the northeast over the past 18 years.
Mike co-founded the long running avant-rock band 5chin400; in 1993
the band played to large and enthusiastic audiences in Prague and
Berlin before closing their tour in Amsterdam with a (kid you not!)
Hell's Angels riot-foreshortened set. In 1994 he replaced the drum
machine in Solomons RamaDa - an association that continues to present
with the band Faking Trains. Mike has since recorded and/or performed
with many fine musicians including Sabir Mateen, Raphe Malik, Eric
Zinman and Damian Catera. Current projects include ADICHATZ - a trio
with Nicole Peyrafitte and Mitch Elrod - and VICE-VERSA with NYC jazz
guitarist Bruce Eisenbeil. Mike also records and produces audiowith
the Hudson-Mohawk Indymedia Collective and WRPI 91.5fm Troy.
GEORGE MUSCATELLO:
is a well know guitar player in the capital district area. He performs
with the Brian Patneaude Quartet every Sunday night at Justin’s,
with Jocamo, as well as solo performer.
Muscatello studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
He honed his skills with Wayne Krantz and Rodney Jones while immersing
himself in the music of modern classical composers such as Bela Bartok
and Leo Brouwer. The guitarist has since become quite well known throughout
the Capital District for his regular appearances at Justin’s,
Savannah's, De John’s in addition to performances with heavy
hitters such as Nick Brignola, Chuck D'Aloia, and Dave Calarco. George
brings a unique sound and compositional approach through his many
musical influences ranging from free jazz to contemporary classical.
During the summer of 2004 Muscatello & Peyrafitte toured the French
version of the Bi Continental Chowder in France.
NICOLE PEYRAFITTE:
Multimedia performance artist Nicole Peyrafitte was born and raised
in the French Pyrenees. She performs locally, nationally and in Europe.
She often collaborates with her partner, poet Pierre Joris, recently
touring their “voco-visual performance” SUMERICABACHBONEs
in Berlin (Germany), Austin (TX), The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis,
Buffalo and Rochester. Peyrafitte recently performed with Mitch Elrod
and Mike Lopez as the trio Adichatz! She collaborates with George
Muscatello; they spent last summer performing the French version of
Bi-Continental Chowder in Southern France.
Peyrafitte who conceptualized the performance MVVP Jam describes it
as:“a period of time spent making improvised music & to
experiment with new songs & poetry & techniques”.
